Job Responsibilities
In this leadership role, the successful candidate will set direction and play an active role in the procurement of goods and services, alongside Procurement team members. They will be responsible for ensuring effective procurement processes are in place; managing the procurement team and developing team members to support the business; developing and/or updating procurement policies and procedures; and developing a pan European procurement framework that supports Greystar’s future growth.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop a strategic procurement business plan with input from key business stakeholders across Greystar’s brands, corporate and construction teams.
- Communicate and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency and deliver value at the asset level.
- Manage current procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value; meet regularly with respective stakeholders regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and develop, communicate and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed and in partnership with Shared Services team.
- Serve as the primary senior contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment across Greystar Europe.
- Work with Student Roost to develop a joint buying plan and optimise opportunities through economies of spend/scale alongside all Greystar owned and managed brands.
- Oversee contract development and administration.
- Develop strong, ethical relationships with suppliers and manage supplier performance to defined KPIs.
- Measure and track performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact.
- In partnership with Shared Services, ensure compliance with purchase to pay policy to assure transactional compliance to legal, financial and ethical policies.
- Develop, communicate and administer procurement team performance and development plans and appraisals.
- Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for the procurement team and organization.
- Develop a procurement framework across Europe, that adds value and efficiency to the operational and corporate teams and considers broader opportunity to leverage scale across operational and construction procurement.
- Design a future blueprint and business case to drive procurement value within the rest of the organization.
- Develop relationships to understand synergies and learnings from US Advantage Solutions team.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Proven ability to build relationship/partnerships with business partners & vendors.
- Proven ability to work on a global/European environment.
- Proven complex contract negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
- Ability to think strategically while fostering best practice initiatives to leverage corporate buying power.
- Change management and strategic leadership preferred.
- Tangible experience leading a procurement/supply chain function and MCIPs preferred.
- Understanding of real estate sector and facilities management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage a team across Europe.
- Proven ability to build relationship/partnerships with business partners & vendors.
- Proven complex contract negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
- Change management leadership.
- Ability to think strategically while fostering best practice initiatives to leverage corporate buying power.
- Demonstrated success in a leadership role, especially where required to achieve through others in a matrix environment.
- Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment whilst adhering to tight timescales and budgets.
- Fluency in French, German or Spanish would be an advantage.
