JOB DESCRIPTION

DUTIES:                                Execute enterprise-scale data operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and governance of data platforms. Ensure successful Operations and Support of the data platform, manage the Data CAB, seamless data ingestion, transformation, governance, and delivery across business domains. Responsible for establishing and maintaining SLAs and contributing into the five pillars of Data Observability. Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy within the design and development of the data pipelines. Implement and maintain data security solutions on the data models based on the legal, compliance, and business needs. Perform deployments and deliver operational support activities related to the development, deployment, operation, and support aspects related to the data pipelines – ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of the data to the business. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including BI/Analytics, data scientists, business analysts, product owners and business stakeholders related to the operational processes – driving customer satisfaction. Ensure data quality and integrity through implementation and execution of data validation and monitoring processes. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues by serving as the L2 support for tickets.  Collaborate with the Data Engineering team, Product Owners and business stakeholders as needed. Document operational processes and keep documentation updated.  Ensure that appropriate documentation exists for pipelines and integrations. Generate a variety of operational reports such service ticket metrics, pipeline performance, data quality reports, and so-on. 100% Telecommuting permitted.

REQUIREMENTS:              Position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and seven (7) years of experience in experience in the job offered or in a DataOps Engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and ten (10) years of progressive experience in experience in the job offered or in a DataOps Engineer-related occupation. Position requires the following skills: Demonstrable expertise in Databricks, Azure Data Services, and cloud-native data architecture; Demonstrable understanding of ITSM frameworks (such as ITIL or similar) and experience implementing operational processes on a scale; Demonstrable experience managing, monitoring and supporting data pipelines written in PySpark, ADF, Synapse, SQL Server, Python and Boomi to support data integration, transformation, and storage; Demonstrable experience in implementing the Data Observability tools and utilizing them to ensure that effectiveness and efficiency of the overall Data Platform using Databricks and Azure ecosystem; Demonstrable experience in creating and maintaining DAGs using AirFlow, orchestrating data pipelines, identifying performance tuning opportunities, and ensuring that the data pipelines complete within the provided SLA; Demonstrable experience includes identifying data anomalies using the data quality tools within Databricks, exposing these in PowerBI, and applying deep skills to find the root cause of any failed data pipeline. 100% Telecommuting permitted.

Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including business requirements, prior experience, current skills and geographical location.

  • Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in a quarterly or annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
