Interested in jumpstarting your career in accounting? This exciting position will expose interns to the many job responsibilities of an Accountant at Greystar – including cash management and banking, accounts payable, capital transactions, and financial reporting. Interns will apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information, reconcile financial statements, prepare general and standard journal entries, assist in budget development, and prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management. We have 191 accountants across our corporate lines of business, which include Investments, Office of the CFO, Development & Construction, and Enterprise.

The Greystar Summer Internship Program is a 10-week immersive opportunity in which interns will discover new skills and gain hands-on experience while working for the leading multifamily real estate developer, investor, owner, and operator.

Greystar interns will be exposed to all aspects of our business – development & construction, investment management, property management, and enterprise services. Through mentorship and guidance, the Greystar Intern Program expands on the classroom knowledge that you have built so far, translating your combined experience into a successful and rewarding career.



  • Working closely with Senior Team members to complete various financial and administrative reports and analysis as assigned.
  • Working with their team to understand the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the team, and to gain knowledge of the line of business and how it functions within the broader real estate business.
  • Becoming familiar with various applications and operational techniques through completing required in-house training programs.
  • Working on special projects that require building relationships and partnering with other Greystar teams to reach goals.
  • Conducting research on and preparing an assessment of a conceptual idea within the department.


  • Curiosity and a desire to learn.
  • A quantitative background that demonstrates analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and capability to articulate complex topics.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties and responsibilities with a high standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines.


Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting or general business and entering your final year or semester of school.

Depending on the position offered, regular full-time and part-time team members may be eligible to participate in a bonus program in addition to their base salary.  Once eligible,  team members may participate in the 401k plan.  Regular, full-time team members are also offered a  range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits from which to choose.
